Outdoor Rug

Our outdoor rug arrived, and its perfect! We choose the Outdoor Rug in Crinkle Diamond Black from Threshold  at Target. I had to order the 7' x 10' size online since Target didn't have it in the store. The rug itself is made of 88% Polypropylene, 12% Polyester, its fade resistant and made for outdoor living! We can sweep it after each use or spray it down with a hose when it gets super dirty. Just what we need! And of course, Toby approves. Now we just need to figure out where to store it...

Happy Memorial Day!

What did you accomplish this weekend? We: - Built a countertop - Installed new floors - Painted the inside of the trailer and finished the Doors and Drawers - Primed the new subfloor - Put new clips on the bunk end bed poles - Fixed our storage box leak - Spray painted the trailer tongue with rust reformer spray

New Floors

What a transformation right?! Wait till you see all the work that went into these floors. Clean slate, ready for flooring. This is the section that will get tricky. To prepare this area, I used some Liquid Nails  to glue down the vinyl that was lifting up. I screwed some wood pieces over top of the edge while the glue dried to for better adhesion. I also used the staple gun in the harder to reach areas. While this dried, we laid out our floor to figure out a pattern we liked. The flooring we are using is the peel and stick Style Selections 6-in x 36-in  from Lowes in Antique Woodland Oak Dark Brown We started with a clean slate. First Kyle used the shop vac to make sure all the large dust and debris was cleared out of the trailer. Then I used the wet mop Swiffer pads to clean all the floors once over. Next I would work in sections. I sprayed the Goo Gone Project Prep spray on first and l

Building a Galley Countertop

This thing is a mess. We took the stove out a few months ago and now its finally time to put a new counter top together for this galley. We are keeping the sink so Kyle traced out just that portion of the old counter onto this  Edge Glued Finger Joint Pine Board  we got from Lowes. He then used our largest drill bit to rough out some holes for the faucet. Then he used the jigsaw to cut out the hole for the sink.  I took that piece he cut out and used grandpas belt sander to smooth out the edges and make them rounded over. We can use this scrap piece as a sink cover when we aren't using the sink now! I also rounded off the square corners of the counter top so you can't hurt yourself by running into them. Looks like a happy little countertop now! This is what the countertop will look like all put back together.  Now we just need to pick a stain color! Decisions decisions... Check out the

Doors and Drawers

We want to paint all the "wood" looking parts of the PUP. But when it came to the cabinet doors and drawers we had some peeling paper issues. Basically this "wood" isn't actual wood it is just a plastic paper veneer glued to everything. Almost all of the paper on the doors and drawers were peeling in the corners or completely comping off so we decided to just rebuild all the doors and drawers. One thing I made sure to do before we started was label each door and drawer then I took a photo of all the labels so I know where everything goes when its time to put it all back together. I also measured out each piece and drew up a spec sheet in Illustrator for reference when cutting. This also helped us determine how much plywood we needed to cut all these pieces. One of the doors had all this info on the back of it so I was sure to take a photo of that as well for future reference. We used about a half sheet of 1/2" plywood  to c
