Toronto, Canada - Day 4

The weather out here has been so wonderful to make up for the night that we came in. We slept with the windows open last night and woke up to a soft breeze flowing over us. The fresh air and views of nature all around us is such a peaceful way to wake up! We had a quick breakfast today because we wanted to get Toby over to day care before we headed up to Toronto. Dropping Toby off went fairly quick since we were just there yesterday.
- It has been months since we have seen 70 degree weather! -
It took a while to drive the 90 miles to Toronto. The border crossing wasn’t too bad with traffic, but the highways near downtown were pretty backed up. We made it into the city around 12:30 PM. I was driving and once we got into the downtown area I followed a car (who was lost too) onto the trolly tracks for a few blocks. That was fun…Oops! We finally made it to a parking structure near St. Lawrence Market. The market was very fun, similar to the ones we visited in London. Full of meats, cheeses, fresh produce and baked goods. We filled our arms with all that we could carry and headed out to a park nearby to devour our goods!

- St. Lawrence Market -

After the market we walked down to the Old Historic Distillery District. We walked around there for a bit, explored the shops then walked back to the car. The winds were starting to pick up and clouds started rolling in. We wanted to beat the storm home so after grabbing a quick coffee we headed back to New York.

- Sharp corner building, Locks of Love and the CN Tower. -

After picking Toby up from day care we headed back to the campsite to enjoy the rest of our evening there. We took Toby for a walk around the campground and explored some of the hidden paths it has. We eventually made our way down to the shoreline of Lake Ontario. I have never seen any of the Great Lakes before but have heard lots about how it feels like you are looking at the ocean and not a lake due to the sheer size of them. We were able to watch the sun set over the lake tonight, with Toronto in the distance. It was beautiful. I will be sad to leave this place and all its beauty tomorrow. But on to the next part of our journey!
